Jewellery collection featuring gold-plated orchids by RISIS.

RISIS is a Singaporean jewelry company that specialises in 24k gold plating real orchids. We were grateful for the opportunity to be in the competition, as well as the chance to visit the RISIS headquarter at Johor Bahru to look and learn at the jewellery making processes done in the factory. After looking at the RISIS jewellery and ornaments, I feel that there is a strong sense of Chinese element or culture that influenced the jewelry. ​​​​

After research, I am inspired by the calligraphy brushstrokes on Chinese paintings that imitate the leaves of orchids plants. Chinese painters used to add orchids at the end of their paintings to evoke Confucian qualities, such as humility, integrity, and refinement. The Leaf-ly collection consists of a brooch, pendant, and two neckpieces. All come up with detachable orchid that can be used as single pendant, after attached to chains.
