Started with the theme of fun, this project has a purpose to create product that makes a certain daily activity or behavior more fun or playful. With that I chose crushing peppers with mortar and pestle. The name KRUS is derived form the word "Crush". It simply works by the weight and the shaking movement that constantly putting pressure to the peppers, crushing it. 

At first, I started to research on information about mortar and pestle, also did some interviews especially with my mother who is more familiar with the objects than the rest of us. I started sketching and come up with three very different concepts, and therefore went along with combining the modern shaker with the old-fashioned mortar and pestle. Finally creating the final prototype with brass with the help of lecturer, Desmond John Chin and workshop technician, Oh Thiam Chye. I am grateful for them as without them this project will not be successful.
